Celebrating Freedom, Entrepreneurship, and Community

Celebrating Freedom, Entrepreneurship, and Community

Every year on June 19th, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and recognizes the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history.

At Bite Me Cookies, Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the importance of opportunity, perseverance, and community. As a Black woman-owned business, we understand the significance of creating spaces where dreams can grow and entrepreneurship can thrive. Small businesses have long been a pathway to economic empowerment, and Black-owned businesses continue to play a vital role in strengthening communities across the country.

The baking industry itself has deep roots in Black history. For generations, Black bakers, chefs, and entrepreneurs have shared culture, tradition, and creativity through food. From family recipes passed down through generations to modern bakeries building their own legacies, food has always been a way to bring people together, tell stories, and celebrate heritage.

At Bite Me Cookies, we're proud to be part of that tradition. Every cookie we bake represents more than just a sweet treat, it represents hard work, passion, and the belief that small businesses can make a big impact.

This Juneteenth, we encourage everyone to support Black-owned businesses, learn more about the history of Juneteenth, and celebrate the entrepreneurs, creators, and community leaders who continue to inspire future generations.

Thank you for supporting local, women-owned, and Black-owned businesses. Together, we can continue building stronger communities—one cookie at a time!
